- Mental Health Facility in Visalia to Host Grand Opening
Community members now have a centralized location as an option for mental health services and alcohol and other drug treatment, as the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency opens its new Visalia Adult Integrated Clinic and Visalia Recovery Center with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ceremony is being held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, November 14 at 520 E. Tulare Avenue in Visalia. As a part of the grand opening, tours of the new building will be conducted.
"I am proud that District 1 has been able to provide a central location that will best serve clients of the Visalia Adult Integrated Clinic and the Visalia Recovery Center," said Allen Ishida, District One Supervisor. "We anticipate a continuation of the quality services provided by the Department of Mental Health for the residents and clients of Tulare County.”

- Home Renovation Workshop to be Held at Tulare County Library
The Tulare County Library is sponsoring a Home Renovations presentation by the Contractor’s State License Board of the California Department of Consumer Affairs on November 12 at 6:30 pm.
The state representatives will address such topics as home repair fraud and the importance of hiring licensed contractors. Attendees will learn how to select a qualified contractor, check a license, negotiate a clear and complete contract, prevent disputes, avoid mechanics liens and resolve disagreements if they arise.

- County Library to Host Music Duo, "Four Shillings Short"
The Celtic/Folk/World music duo Four Shillings Short will present a multi-cultural educational concert for all ages called "Around the World in 30 Instruments" at 7 p.m. on November 8 at the Tulare County Library Visalia Branch.

- Walnut-Buying Period Starts Nov. 1
Tulare County Agricultural Commissioner Marilyn Kinoshita announced today that the walnut-buying period will begin Friday, November 1st as the County’s nut theft ordinance continues to be enforced.
“Commercial production and handling of walnuts constitute an important industry here in Tulare County” Kinoshita said. “Unfortunately, some people steal them from orchards and attempt to sell the walnuts illegally on the streets. County staff has been actively enforcing the nut theft ordinance by conducting compliance checks at places where walnuts are sold to ensure that this practice stops.”

- Croatian Exhibit to Debut at Farm Labor & Agriculture Museum
The History of Tulare County Farm Labor & Agriculture Museum will debut a next exhibit on November 3 – Diligence Grown from Strong Roots: Honoring Croatian Experiences in Tulare County.
The public is invited to attend a reception to honor the opening of the new exhibit from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, located inside of Mooney Grove Park in Visalia. Admission to the park and museum is free.
