The Transportation/Operations Division is responsible for transportation services, contract administration, construction management, and maintenance of the county road system and its’ bridges. The staff responds to public concerns about the conditions of county roads, traffic control, signage and transit. The maintenance operations are centralized out of four road districts with road yard shops located in the Dinuba, Visalia, Porterville, and Terra Bella areas. Smaller shops are located in Badger, Kennedy Meadows, and Earlimart. Asphalt overlay, blade patching, chip sealing, oiling, and pothole filling are just a few of the activities carried out by the Transportation/Operations Division. The Division includes Professional Engineers, a Maintenance Manager, a Transit Coordinator, Road Yard Superintendents, Construction Inspectors, Road Use Investigators, Engineering Technicians, Engineering Aides, and a Pavement Management Coordinator, as well as, the many dedicated road maintenance workers in the field.
