In August 2017, Human Resources and Development (HR&D) Department opened our doors at our new facility which was the old Planetarium building.
Our grand re-opening ceremony and open house was complete with an unveiling of a painted mural that depicts and promotes the County's lifestyle, various tourist destinations, and economic opportunities for employment.
"Tulare County is a wonderful place to live and work. We want this building to reflect that and be a symbol the people of Tulare County can be proud of," shared the 2017 Board Chairman Pete Vander Poel.
The mural is unique for a government building and a first for the County. The County enlisted well-known large scale muralist, Colleen Mitchel-Veyna, to bring the vision to life. To date, Mitchel-Veyna has completed more than 200 murals including multiple works of art thoughout Tulare County. http://veynadesignstudios.com
"We are excited about increased training capabilities, new video interviewing abilities, and expanded computer lab better to serve our departments, employees. and job applicants," said Rhonda Sjostrom, Human Resources Director. "Our stunning mural outside keeps with our department's new branding and outreach program. A second mural can be seen as you enter the facility and the former Planetarium Room, now the Innovation Computer Lab. And there is a hidden treasure in our mural, and tribute to Patches, who joined our staff when moving into the new facility.
