On 11/22/14 at approx. 1302 hours Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Departments Porterville substation were dispatched to the 27700 Blk of Hwy 190 in regards to a disturbance and stabbing in progress. Upon the deputies arrival they located the victim who was being attended to by the local citizens for a puncture/ open wound to the neck area. The victim was transported to local hospital for treatment of his injury and subsequently airlifted to another hospital where he was admitted for continued treatment of his injury. The patrol deputies while canvassing the area for witnesses and the suspect, they located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Due to the nature of the victims injury Investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments Violent Crimes unit were called to investigate the incident.
    The ensuing investigation revealed the suspect was at the location attending a family function when he got into an argument with his girlfriend and was very loud, boisterous and belligerent with others. The victim approached the suspect and asked him to calm down as he was creating disharmony with others. The suspect in an unprovoked attack hit the victim in the neck with a known type object causing a puncture wound type injury to his neck.
    The victim is currently in guarded condition at local hospital being treated for his injury. No other information is being released at this time.
