On 5-30-15 at approximately 0002 hours Deputies from Orosi Substation were investigating a physical altercation at an apartment complex located at 12554 Avenue 408 in Orosi. During the investigation, Deputies noticed the suspect in the kitchen and requested he open the door. The suspect identified as Antonio Duran (29 years old) refused to cooperate, failed to follow instructions, and walked upstairs to remain out of view. Within a few minutes two juveniles opened the front door. Deputies were able to confirm a female was the victim of domestic violence.
Subsequently, they contacted Duran who was argumentative, and refused to open his bedroom door as instructed. Deputies became concerned he might try to jump out the bedroom window to escape. Deputies entered the bedroom, and were immediately confronted by Duran who fought to resist arrest. Deputies tried to use a Taser to stop his aggression, but it was ineffective. Duran became violent during the altercation, but was eventually subdued. Deputies sustained minor injuries during this incident. Duran was arrested, medically treated at a local hospital, and booked at Pre-Trail in Visalia. The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
