On 7-29-15 Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Ave. 160, Tipton in regards to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival they obtained information an Asian male entered the home and removed a computer.

7-30-15 Detectives with the Sheriff’s Department Ag Crimes Investigation Unit obtained information the stolen computer was being kept at an address in the city of Visalia. They further learned occupants of the residence were using stolen computer equipment along with stolen personal information in an attempt to obtain financial accounts and funds fraudulently.

7-31-15 Detectives served a search warrant at the Visalia residence where they located the above listed suspects as well as evidence indicating the residence was being used as a place to access and obtain bank account information as well as establish lines of credit. A large amount of stolen personal identification and information was found and recovered. Also located and recovered were several computers, scanners, check and card readers.

The suspects were subsequently arrested and booked for identity theft, burglary, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Agriculture Crimes Detectives assumed the role of lead investigators, but were assisted by Tulare County Sheriff’s Tactical Enforcement Personnel (STEP) as well as North End Property Crimes Detectives, Violent Crimes Detectives, Sheriff’s Department K9 units and the Cyber Forensics Investigations Unit. Personnel from the Visalia Police Department also assisted with this investigation.

The stolen computer from the victim’s residence was recovered during this investigation. It’s value was estimated at $2,800.
