Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Detectives were called to the Strathmore area to investigate a burglary/ vandalism to several hangars at Eckert Field. Upon arrival Deputies met with the property’s owner. The damage to the hangar and planes was estimated to be approximately $2,050. The damage to the residences on the property is yet to be determined. A 1996 brown Ford Ranger pickup was also stolen from the property during the burglary. The victim estimated the total loss to be approximately $6,819.


On 8-17-15 Deputies were contacted by CHP Officers in the area of Ave 190 and Rd 228 regarding tools and property located in a stolen vehicle. It was later determined some of the property located in the vehicle was stolen from Eckert Field. The victim was contacted and he identified some of the property as his. He estimated the recovery of his property to be approximately $1,319
