S1: Benny Navarrette, III, 27 of Goshen

On Friday, November 14, Detectives from the STEP Unit of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department served a marijuana search warrant at a residence in the 31000 block of Wolf Drive in Goshen. Detectives discovered two highly sophisticated indoor marijuana grow rooms at the residence. During the investigation, Detectives discovered that it appeared as if the homeowner, Benny Navarrette, III, 27 was stealing power to supply electricity to the indoor operations. Southern California Edison was called and confirmed Navarrette bypassed the meter and had stolen approximately $24,000.00 of unmetered electricity. Detectives seized 48 fully mature marijuana plants, a large sum of cash, digital scales and packaging materials. Detectives estimate the total street value of the marijuana at approximately $250,000.00. Navarrette was arrested at the scene and booked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Pre-Trial Facility pursuant to the charges of the cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales and utility theft.
