Over the past several weeks, Detectives from the Sheriff’s Tactical Enforcement Personnel (S.T.E.P.) team conducted an investigation into a large scale indoor marijuana grow site near the city of Dinuba (County).
During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the property, which included 2 large metal shops. During the search, 214 live Marijuana plants were eradicated; approximately and 12 lbs. of partially processed marijuana were located. It was discovered that subjects were stealing electricity to power their operation; the amount is to be determined however is over $950.00. PG&E, theft investigator responded to assist and the power was cut off.
With the size of the plants seized, Detectives estimated they would produce approximately 1 lbs per plant with an illegal street value of $1,000 per lb. If allowed to mature the illegal street value would be $214,000.00.
