On 10/26/15 at approximately 2152 hours Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Office-Pixley Substation conducted a traffic stop.  During the traffic stop the driver advised he was leaving the Delano area and driving to Oregon.  He was unable to provide any identification and advised his license was suspended. While talking with the driver deputies could smell the strong odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle.  The driver who verbally identified himself as “Simon Espinoza” gave consent to search the vehicle.

A TCSD K9 was used to conduct a search of the vehicle.  Approximately (3) pounds of marijuana, (1.0) grams of methamphetamine, and (1) used glass meth pipe were located within the vehicle.  The driver later admitted to providing a false name due to having active warrants for his arrest.  He stated his intent was to sell it for a profit.

The suspect was arrested and booked into County Jail without incident.  The case will be submitted to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for review.
