On Monday, October 20th, after a 5 month investigation regarding illegal marijuana trafficking, Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff Department’s STEP Unit served two (2) narcotics search warrants at a residence in the 2400 block of W. Ellowin in the City of Visalia and a residence in the 12500 block of Avenue 324 in the County. 

Detectives located a sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation and evidence that showed large  amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine were being trafficked by Silvestre Martinez, 30 of Visalia, Francisca, Salinas, 28 of Visalia, Isabel Martinez, 26 of Mexico and Yolanda Cardenas, 48 of Mexico.

During the investigation, Detectives seized a total of 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine, fourteen (14) pounds of marijuana, thirteen (13) firearms, ballistic body armor, over $1,800.00 in US currency and two (2) stolen vehicles.

The four suspects were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility pursuant to charges including the possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, operation of a drug house, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a bullet proof vest, possession of a stolen vehicle and conspiracy. The methamphetamine and marijuana seized is estimated to be valued at over $37,000.00.
