The Tulare County Sheriff K-9 Unit participated in Kingsburg’s 19th Annual Police K-9 Trials held this past weekend in the city of Kingsburg. There were twenty K-9 Officers that participated in this years’ event from 7 different valley Law Enforcement Agencies. Participating for the Tulare County Sheriff Department were Deputies Anthony Rodriguez, Doug Burch, Joseph England, and Corey Evans. These Deputies and their K-9 partners placed fairly well considering the competition. 

Deputy Joseph England and his K-9 partner “Rosco” placed 2nd in the Obedience portion, 2nd in Agility portion, and 4th in the Open Division Overall Performance. 

Deputy Scott Mackey and his K-9 partner “Rocket” placed 3rd in the buildings search portion of the trials.

Deputy Corey Evans and his K-9 partner “Kaytu” placed 5th in the Novice Division Overall Performance. 

Deputy Anthony Rodriguez and his K-9 partner “Blade” placed 5th in the search portion and 5th in the Open Division Overall Performance.  

The Sheriff’s K-9 Unit showcase their training and experience at public demonstrations and at K-9 trials held throughout California. The Sheriff’s   K-9 Unit is available to all law enforcement agencies who request assistance in the apprehension of criminals or searching for missing or lost persons.
