The suspicious death in Ivanhoe at the above location, which was originally reported to be a "man down" called in by a passerby, is now being investigated as a homicide. Detectives had identified the victim as Marcos Villegas, age 19 of Visalia, whose cause of death has yet to be determined through an autopsy.

On the above date and time, Deputies from the Headquarters Patrol station were dispatched to a call of a "man down" in the specified area. Upon arrival the subject, who appeared to be an adult male, was in fact deceased. Based on the circumstances and limited information, this is being investigated as a suspicious death. Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff's Department Violent Crimes Unit and the Forensic Investigations Unit (Crime Lab) responded and are currently conducting the investigation.
