Around 2 p.m on 8/29/21, TCSO Deputies were called to a business in the area of Avenue 232 and Road 140 in Tulare for a report of a burglary.

Surveillance video showed a burgundy Chevrolet Silverado truck smashing into a business and two people taking clothing from the business. A truck matching the suspect vehicle was later found parked in Strathmore. Deputies also found the truck had been reported stolen out of of Lindsay.

During their investigation, Deputies served a warrant at a home where they thought the suspects might be. Just before that, Deputies learned 22-year-old Madison Orta was found to be associated with the stolen truck.

Inside the home, Deputies found numerous pairs of stolen jeans. While they were searching the home, 44–year-old Robert McMath fell through a ceiling. Deputies found evidence linking McMath to the stolen truck used in the burglary, as well as the stolen jeans.

The stolen clothing, worth about $1600, was returned to the owner of the business.

Orta and McMath were both booked at the South County Detention Facility.

There was also additional stolen property from another recent burglary found at the home.
