Through their investigation, Detectives with the Homicide Unit determined Chavez was responsible for the shooting and tried to stop him while he was driving in the Orosi area. Chavez refused to stop and led Detectives on a pursuit to the Orange Cove area. Chavez ultimately pulled over and was taken into custody without further incident. He has been booked at the Tulare County Sheriff's Office Pre-Trial Facility on homicide charges.
