The Auditor-Controller is the chief accounting officer and dispersing officer of the County. He maintains the accounting records of the County government and most special districts. He maintains cash balances for all school districts, compiles tax rates and the tax roll. The Auditor-Controller apportions taxes to the various governmental entities and audits County departments. Special audits are performed upon request and revenue estimates are calculated for the County budget.
In 2006 the Auditor-Controller became the Treasurer/Tax-Collector.
