PUBLIC HEARING: Request from the County Administrative office to receive testimony regarding recommended maps and the composition of one or more supervisorial districts. Receive a presentation regarding the 2021 Advisory Commission on Supervisorial Redistricting meetings and public outreach. Accept the Final Report from the 2021 Advisory Commission on Supervisorial Redistricting and Commission map recommendations for new supervisorial district boundaries. Direct staff to return to the Board on November 2, 2021 to present new, modified, or the same recommended maps for consideration.

PUBLIC HEARING: Request from the County Administrative office to accept the Final Report from the 2021 Advisory Commission on Supervisorial Redistricting and Commission map recommendations for new supervisorial district boundaries. Receive public testimony given on October 26, 2021 regarding recommended maps and the composition of one or more supervisorial districts. Receive public testimony regarding recommended maps and the composition of one or more supervisorial districts. Direct staff to eliminate maps from further consideration, and return to the Board on November 9, 2021 to present new, modified, or the same recommended maps for consideration.

PUBLIC HEARING: Request from the County Administrative Office to receive public testimony regarding recommended maps and the composition of one or more supervisorial districts. Select a final map, and direct staff to return to the Board on November 16, 2021 to introduce an ordinance to adopt the final map.

November 16, 2021

Request from the County Administrative Office to introduce an ordinance amending Chapter 1 (“Board of Supervisors”) of Part I (“Government and Administration”) of the Ordinance Code to make it Article 1 of the same chapter, with no substantive change; adding Article 2, entitled “Supervisorial Districts,” to the same chapter, commencing with section 1-01-2000, pertaining to the boundaries of the supervisorial districts in the County of Tulare; and repealing Uncodified Ordinance No. 3432, pertaining to the 2011 boundaries. Find that the title of the ordinance was included on the published agenda, and that a copy of the full ordinance was made available to the public online and in print at the meeting before the ordinance was introduced. Set the adoption of the ordinance for December 7, 2021. Find that it is not feasible to prepare a fair and adequate summary of the proposed ordinance and direct the Clerk of the Board to publish a display advertisement of at least one-quarter of a page in a newspaper of general circulation in the county, at least five days prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting at which the proposed ordinance is to be adopted. The advertisement shall indicate the general nature of, and provide information about, the proposed ordinance, including information sufficient to enable the public to obtain copies of the complete text of such ordinance.
