TeamCalifornia's 10th Annual Meet the Consultants Forum Comes to Tulare County for First Time

  • Jun 25, 2024

Tulare County will host TeamCalifornia’s 10th annual Meet the Consultants (MTC) Site Selection and Economic Development Forum this August, as the Forum’s Title Sponsor. This gathering is a unique opportunity for site selectors, economic development stakeholders and leaders from California cities and counties to convene and explore potential economic development opportunities across the state.

Central Location in California

The MTC Forum will take place from Tuesday, August 6, to Thursday, August 8, at the Visalia Convention Center. The forum location changes annually within California, and this year, the County of Tulare’s Economic Development Office (EDO) is the hosting jurisdiction. The EDO has partnered with all eight cities in Tulare County and the Tulare County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) to welcome statewide partners to this forum in Downtown Visalia. The forum has garnered significant sponsorship, including a Platinum-level sponsorship from Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, California.
Purpose of the Forum

“The purpose of the Annual MTC forum is to showcase specific California regions to site selectors making decisions about business investments in California and hear their experiences. Attendees will hear the latest trends in the site selection industry and network with decision-makers,” says TeamCalifornia CEO Robin Reimold. The forum is designed to provide valuable insights and actionable strategies for professionals involved in economic development through an interactive panel, consultant presentations and round table discussions with site selectors. Topics to be covered include retail and commercial site selection, financing, business retention and expansion strategies and workforce development.

The MTC forum offers Tulare County communities a valuable chance to showcase their local assets directly to retail and commercial site selectors, brokers, and realtors. Representatives from cities like Dinuba, Exeter, Farmersville, Lindsay, Porterville, Tulare, Visalia, and Woodlake can present information about available land and opportunities, saving time and resources typically spent on out-of-state travel. This forum enhances visibility, encourages collaboration, and supports economic development by bringing key decision-makers to the Central Valley. “For attendees coming from outside Tulare County, the forum will provide a platform to raise awareness within the economic development community about all that Tulare County has to offer. Both driving and virtual tours of the region will be available to highlight the various communities within Tulare County,” says Michael Washam, ACE, Associate Director of the County of Tulare’s Resource Management Agency, who oversees economic development strategy for the county.

Eagle Mountain Casino Elevates Support for Central California’s Growth by Sponsoring TeamCalifornia MTC Forum

Eagle Mountain Casino, renowned for its exceptional hospitality and premier entertainment offerings in Central California’s South Valley, has recently become a Platinum-level sponsor of the MTC forum. As part of their sponsorship, Eagle Mountain Casino will host the exclusive TeamCalifornia’s California Only meeting—a private dinner scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, August 6.

This invitation-only VIP dinner presents a unique networking opportunity for other forum sponsors. Attendees, including site selectors, elected officials, city and regional business leaders, realtors, utility representatives, developers, and businesses, will have the chance to connect more directly in an intimate setting. Special guests will embark on a bus journey from Visalia to Porterville, gaining a firsthand view of the commercial landscape ripe for development along the way.

Upon arrival in Porterville, VIP guests will be treated to a dinner at the world-class River Steakhouse, located within the state-of-the-art Eagle Mountain Casino, which proudly opened its new location in May 2023. The evening will also feature entertainment opportunities within the casino, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
Eagle Mountain Casino and the Tule River Tribe are committed to the growth of California’s Central Valley. In 2023, the casino partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the California Office of the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), and local jurisdictions to host an Economic Development Summit on its premises. Its decision to sponsor the TeamCalifornia forum underscores its unwavering dedication to regional economic development.

“We currently provide nearly 1,000 local jobs and are an economic engine for future development within Tulare County. We recognize that a sponsorship from Eagle Mountain Casino reinforces our commitment to the local economy and fosters stronger ties between the casino and the community, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic progress within Tulare County and the greater Central Valley Region,” says Eagle Mountain Casino Assistant General Manager Tiffany Sahagun.
