Join the Tulare County Library for a chance to win a free book and learn more about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. In partnership with the Tulare County Office of Education and First 5 of Tulare County, the Library is hosting Imagination Library special event storytimes and a stay and play sessions for children 0-5 years when accompanied by their caregiver. Attend one of these storytimes for a chance to win a copy of Dolly Parton’s Billy the Kid Makes It Big, provided by the Friends of the Tulare County Library.

The Literacy Center’s Stay and Play features a Dolly Imagination Library informational session on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Stay and Play, currently supported by Save the Children, is open to families with young children to join in activities and learn about local resources. Children attending receive free books to build their home libraries. The Literacy Center is located at 417 N Locust St, Visalia, CA 93291. What is Dolly Imagination Library?
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. It is easy to enroll online at imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability. Once enrolled, in 6-8 weeks, children receive their first book in the mail, 'The Little Engine That Could'.
