Fire Chief's Message

It is my sincere honor and privilege to serve the residents of Tulare County as your Fire Chief. I work with over 200 of the best trained and dedicated fire service professionals in the industry. Together, we provide high quality fire suppression, prevention, and emergency medical services to 442,000 residents in a 4839 square mile response area. Over the past 15 years the Tulare County Fire Department has grown into a full service, all risk Fire Department that continues to provide outstanding customer service in a rapidly changing environment.

Over the last several years, historic wildfires have changed the landscape and our approach to incident response. We have emerged stronger as an organization and have continued to make Tulare County citizens our priority. We have a dedicated group of Prevention staff who have been working tirelessly to help the community prevent fires and be more fire safe. We attend community and school events on a regular basis to build the foundation of fire safety education with our youth. We host Fire Camps during the summer months to involve the communities in our prevention efforts and to introduce fire safety at a young age.

The primary reason for our continued success is centered around our commitment to community and teamwork. The teamwork provided by our firefighters, elected officials, county staff, and members of our great County is exemplary. I am so very proud of the men and women of the Tulare County Fire Department that have worked so tirelessly to serve our communities. Please feel free to contact myself or any of our Tulare County Firefighters if we can assist you in any way.

Sincerely,

Charlie Norman
