13-Year-Old Arrested for Threatening to Bring "AR 15" to School

On 2/5/19 around 3:27 p.m., the Tulare County Sheriff's Office received a call about a 13-year-old student threatening to bring an AR-15 to Tipton Elementary School on North Evans in Tipton.

Witnesses told school officials the 13-year-old boy told them he was going to bring the gun to school on Wednesday, 2/6/19, and they were scared because they'd seen a picture of that same boy holding an AR-15 on Snapchat about a month ago. Because of that, those students sent an anonymous warning using the school's "online bully reporting system".

The student's mother is cooperating and allowed Deputies to search the home. No weapons were found.

The 13-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Facility.

Sheriff Boudreaux wants to remind everyone that threats like this are never a joke and will always be taken very seriously by the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.

This case is currently under investigation.
