13-Year-Old Boy & Friend Steal Car, Lead Deputies on a Chase & Crash Into Power Pole


Just before 1:30 a.m. on 12/03/2019, TCSO Deputies were called to the 23000 block of Ave. 197 in Strathmore for a stolen vehicle.

While responding, Deputies found the car, a 2012 white Chrysler 300, heading at a high rate of speed westbound on Ave. 196 in Strathmore. Deputies then followed the stolen car as it made a turn at the intersection of Ave.184 and Road 196 in Porterville. The car was still traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a power pole and overturned. Two teen boys got out the car. The 13-year-old driver was caught and the passenger ran off. The 13-year-old was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Felony Failure to Yield and Felony Vandalism. The case remains under investigation.
