On 08/30/14 at 1800 hours Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Departments Porterville Substation responded to a report of a home invasion robbery in the 15400 Blk of Rd 223. The victims related to the responding Deputies that they were at their residence outside when they were approached by suspect #1 under a ruse, suspect #1 then brandished a handgun and ordered the victims into their residence where once inside suspect 2, armed with a long type gun & suspect 3 with an unknown weapon appeared. The victims were ordered to surrender personal valuables, jewelry, cell phones, home entertainment items and an undetermined amount of cash from the residence. The suspects then tied up the victims and fled the residence in a four door green unknown make or model vehicle. The victims were able to free themselves from the restraints and called the sheriff’s department for assistance.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments Property Crimes Unit were called out to investigate the incident. The ensuing investigation led to a residence in the 23400 blk of Rd 223 in Starthmore where S/5 Hager was contacted. This led to a search warrant being written and served at the Strathmore residence where two stolen vehicles were located as well as some of the jewelry and other property taken in the Home Invasion Robbery. Hager was booked at the Porterville Sheriff’s Substation by Officers of the California Highway Patrol on 2 counts of possession of a Stolen Vehicle and 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property. Hager was also booked by Detectives from the Sheriff’s Department for One count of Possession of Stolen Property relating to the Home Invasion Robbery. The value of the recovered stolen property is approx.. $2,000.00. The identity’s of suspects one and two were learned during the course of this investigation and were taken into custody without incident and booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility on the listed charges.
The vehicle and weapons used are still outstanding as well as some of the property.
