Today, Tuesday May 6th, at 1 PM in the lobby of Sheriff's Headquarters, Acting Sheriff Mike Boudreaux will promote three new Sergeants. Pelase join us for the promotion of the following:

Gilbert Rodriguez was raised in Lindsay by parents Debra and Robert Rodriguez. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 2000, and was hired as a Sheriff’s Trainee four years later. In 2005 he graduated from the College of the Sequoias Correctional Academy and was made a Correctional Deputy in October of 2006. Gilbert has worked at both the Men’s Correctional Facility as well as the Adult Pre-Trial Facility, and worked as the Lead Intake Deputy in the teams he was assigned to at both facilities.

As someone who has been a leader and involved with leadership his whole life, Gilbert became involved with the Correctional Deputy Advisory Committee. This stems from his experience of helping others in leadership classes, student government, church group leader, camp counselor, and tutor.

Gilbert is supported in this promotion as he is in all things by his wife Edessa of seven years, and his two little girls Emma and Hayley Ann, 5 and 2 respectively.

Richard Scotti was born in Glendale and raised in Selma, where he graduated from Selma High School. In his 17 years in law enforcement, he has worked with not only the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department but also the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department and the California Department of Corrections.

After being hired in November of 2006 with our department, Scotti became involved in the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), and is also a member of the Strategic Response Unit (SRU) which is an investigative unit. His training includes specialized tactical training through a specific SERT academy.

Richard is supported in his career by his family, including his wife and two children.

Lupe Negrete, raised by parents Arthur and Jenny Negrete, attended Fresno State to pursue a major in Criminology. She was hired with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department in 2007 and has been with our department since then.  We are proud to welcome her to the rank of Sergeant, and look forward to her future in law enforcement.
