On 9-8-16 at approximately 1200 hours, Deputies from Pixley Substation met with Child Welfare Service workers in Earlimart. During the investigation, Deputies discovered a minor juvenile had sustained a visible injury as a result of disciplinary action taken by a legal guardian. 

The injury did not require immediate medical treatment. The victim and other minor juveniles were taken into protective custody, pending CWS recommendations. 

Deputies contacted and arrested Praxdes Ayon, a 44-year-old resident of Earlimart. He was transported and booked at the Sheriff's Porterville Substation.
