Suspect was arrested and booked for PC.211: Robbery, PC.69: Resist/Assault officer.
On 11-02-16 at about 1845 hours, a suspect entered the Tipton Chevron, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The suspect fled the area with about $220 in cash. The suspect was identified.
Deputies and Detectives of the Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU), North-end Investigation Unit, South-End Investigations Unit, Pixley Patrol, the K9 Unit and the Sheriff’s Tactical Enforcement Personnel (STEP) attempted to locate the suspect at his residence in the 100 block of South Smith Road in Tipton. It was discovered the suspect was hiding in the attic of the residence. A search warrant and arrest warrant were obtained for the search of the residence and the arrest of the suspect.
After several attempts and orders for the suspect to come out were refused, a TCSO K9 was sent in the attic. After still refusing to come out the suspect was extracted from the attic by the K9.
The suspect sustained minor injuries from the K9. The suspect was treated at a local hospital and later booked in the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
