On Wednesday, 10-4-17, at about 9:12 pm, three unknown armed suspects entered the Tipton Food Center during business hours in the 300 block of East Klindera Avenue in Tipton.

During that time, the suspects immediately made contact with three adult employees of the business and demanded money at gunpoint.  One employee was physically assaulted during the robbery, and he was later treated and released from an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The suspects managed to remove an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the business and subsequently fled on foot to an awaiting vehicle, which was parked in an alleyway about one block south of Klindera Avenue.

The three suspects each possessed a handgun and were further described as wearing all dark clothing with gloves and masks to hide their identities.  The suspect vehicle was last observed southbound Highway 99, and was described as a gold or tan colored, four-door sedan.

Personnel from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office patrol division initially responded to the scene, and detectives assumed the investigation with additional assistance from the Sheriff’s UAV Unit and Cyber & Forensic Investigations Unit (CFIU).

The case is currently under investigation.
