Suspect: Sanchez, Luis 30 YOA resides in Ivanhoe
Deputies responded to above location regarding a reported carjacking. During the deputies’ investigation it was learned that the victim and suspect are brothers. The suspect took the victim’s vehicle keys by force after a physical confrontation in which the suspect produced a knife and attempted to slash the victim’s torso. The victim sustained superficial abrasions from the knife which did not require medical attention. After forcibly acquiring the victim’s keys, the suspect ran to the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
While deputies were still on scene completing their investigation, the suspect drove back into the area and was seen by deputies who attempted to conduct a a felony traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect fled the Ivanhoe area and drove in a manner of total disregard for his and others safety. The deputies pursued the suspect into the 4800 Block of E. Vista in Visalia, where the suspect stopped the vehicle, exited and was taken into custody by deputies. He was subsequently booked on above charges at Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
