Assault with a Deadly Weapon X5, False Imprisonment, Child Endangerment

The mother of the 3-year-old victim is out of surgery and stable. The 3-year-old is out of the hospital and with her aunt in Sacramento, per the mother’s request. Another victim was taken back to Santa Cruz by Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies. Greyhound arranged to have another bus pick up the remaining passengers and take them to their destination. 

The suspect continues to receive medical treatment and is currently in custody of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. 
She is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. No other information on the suspect will be released at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. 

We are not releasing the names of the mother and child. And we will not be getting in touch with family members for interviews.

On Monday, 03/05/18 at approximately 1406 hours Deputies and Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a female on a Grey Hound Bus stabbing people at the 36000 block of Highway 99, just north of the City of Tulare, in the County of Tulare. During the altercation there were two adults who sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening treatment and are expected to make a full recovery. There was one three year old juvenile female who sustained minor injury. Two adults sustained minor injury and were treated at the scene. The female suspect was taken into custody after being detained by passengers on the bus until Deputies arrived on scene. The female suspect sustained moderate self-inflicted injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where she will receive treatment before being booked into the Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
