On 1-21-18 at 2103 hours, Deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of Road 158 and Avenue 296, in Visalia.  Upon arrival, they contacted a victim who had reported he was traveling northbound on Road 158 and someone in a vehicle that passed him fired several shots at him.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound as a result of the incident. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and remains in critical, but stable condition.  Detectives responded to the scene and this case is currently under investigation.
