Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and Detectives were called to the Poplar area to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.  Upon arrival Deputies and Detectives contacted the victim. The victim advised that unknown subjects approached him in a vehicle and shot him with an unknown type of handgun.  The suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to Sierra View Hospital for treatment of his injuries and later released.
