         Victim #2  White Female 17yrs, Porterville, Ca.

 

On Saturday, November 19, 2016 at approximately 0207 hours, Officers from the Farmersville Police Department responded to the 500 Block of East Front in regards to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they located a fence and vehicle that had fresh indications they had recently been shot at along with shell casings and bullet fragments in the roadway.

While the officers were conducting their preliminary investigation a few minutes later, they received information that a Hispanic male, 38 yrs and a Hispanic female, 17 years, arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with serious but non-life-threatening wounds and claimed they had been shot in the area of the shots fired call.

The male victim was a known Southern Gang member from the Porterville area.

The Interagency Gang Enforcement Team was called to investigate the incident. The ensuing investigation revealed the victims were in a vehicle parked on North Sandy at East Front when an unknown type of white vehicle occupied by unknown occupants passed by and began shooting at the occupants of the vehicle. Several shots were heard by the victims and neighbors.

Victim 1 sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and Victim 2 sustained a gunshot wound to her left hand. Both victims were treated for their injuries and admitted to a local hospital. Both Victims are in stable condition and recovering from their injuries.

The case is currently under investigation by the Interagency Gang Enforcement Team. No arrests have been made at this time and no other information is being released.

The Interagency Gang Enforcement Team is funded by the Byrnes Justice Assistance Grant/ Closing the Circle Program and is made up of Gang Investigators from the Exeter and Farmersville police departments and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
