On 04/02/15 an attempted Armed Robbery occurred at the Exeter Mini Mart in the 400 Blk of W. Pine where two subjects brandished a handgun at the clerks and then fled the scene, no loss was reported.
The investigation was turned over to the Interagency Gang Enforcement Team which is made up of Investigators from the Exeter & Farmersville Police Departments and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department which is funded through JAG Grant called Closing the Circle.
The ensuing investigation determined the suspect’s were local gang members and led the investigators to a residence in the 300 Blk of W. Visalia Rd.
On 04/22/15 the investigators went to the residence to conduct a probation compliance check and serve a search warrant. As the investigators from the Interagency Gang Enforcement Team arrived a male subject, later identified as Robert Sanchez MH/ 36 years, went into the residence and locked the door. Sanchez refused the investigators entrance into the residence and went into a bedroom and fell asleep. After a short time, family members arrived and provided investigators keys to the residence, investigators entered and found Sanchez asleep in a bedroom. Sanchez was arrested for Delaying an officer in the performance of his duties and booked at the APTF on the listed charges. The search warrant led the investigators to evidence that linked the Suspects #1 & 2, two male Hispanic Juveniles to the crime and they were arrest and booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility on the listed charges. Both Juveniles are local gang members.
