On the morning of 12-16-2017 at approximately 0737 hours:

Deputies responded to the area of Elm and Maple streets in Pixley for multiple 911 calls of a male subject shooting at occupied cars in the area. 

During the investigation, it was discovered that a male subject walking in the area had fired a shotgun at two cars passing his location.  A third victim advised the subject pointed the shotgun at him but did not fire. None of the victims were injured during the incident.  

The suspect entered a nearby business wielding the shotgun and stole a company vehicle from the parking area. The vehicle and weapon were soon located by Deputies in the area. 

The suspect was identified as Jesus Chavez with information obtained from witnesses. Chavez was soon apprehended in Delano. 

Additional evidence located during the investigation links Chavez with a shooting that had occurred on 12-09-2017 in the Terra Bella area in which the victim is recovering from his wounds (Case 17-14905). Chavez was charged and booked into the Tulare County Jail for the above stated charges.
