On 6/6/16, the victim’s caretaker reported to Sheriff’s Deputies that unknown suspects had forced entry to the currently unoccupied residence. The suspects removed household goods from the residence and a Mercury Tracer from the garage for a reported loss of $1,230 with $50 damage.
On 6/7/16 at approximately 1045 hours, subjects who worked for the victim saw the stolen vehicle being driven in the Strathmore area. The workers followed the vehicle and observed it stop at a residence in the 19000 block of Road 230, Strathmore. They observed the occupants of the vehicle enter the residence. The workers reported this information to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the area and secured the residence and vehicle. Detectives were called to the scene and a search warrant was secured. The suspects eventually exited the residence without further incident and the residence was searched. Deputies located the victim’s silverware and other household goods at the residence, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.
Santos Vargas, 26 years, and Juan Rodriguez, 24 years of Strathmore, were arrested for burglary, conspiracy, and vehicle theft.
