On 12-22-17, Headquarters Patrol Deputies responded to a market near the community of Waukena in regards to the report of a carjacking. Upon arrival, Deputies learned an unknown Hispanic male entered the victim's running vehicle and fled the area.
Deputies further learned that when the vehicle was stolen, a second victim was asleep in the back seat of the car. A short distance from the store, the second victim was forced out of the vehicle at knife point. Deputies learned no injuries were sustained by the victims.
Deputies began canvasing the area and located the victim’s vehicle a few miles from the original crime scene.
Detectives and Forensic Evidence Technicians responded to the scene where they processed the vehicle for evidence. Detectives also located video evidence that is in the process of being further reviewed.
This case is active as leads are apparent.
