Around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies were called the area of Ave 384 and Rd 48 in Kingsburg for a carjacking. When they arrived, Deputies found two victims who said that a BMW sedan had crashed into them and the man behind the wheel ran off. Shortly after, that same man returned and physically assaulted the victims and forced them out of their car. The suspect then drove off in the victims’ car.
About 10 minutes later, Deputies found the victims’ car at a convenience store in Dinuba and stopped the suspect. Deputies tried to negotiate with him for 10 minutes, but he ignored all commands. Deputies also deployed a pepperball, but the suspect still failed to surrender or comply with instructions.
As the Deputies continued to try and negotiate with the suspect, he hit the gas and rammed the car into a Tulare County Sheriff’s Patrol Unit, nearly hitting a Deputy. The vehicle was ultimately disabled and the suspect, 36-year-old Nathaniel Hollins of Fresno, was taken into custody. He was booked into the Adult Pretrial Facility for Attempted Homicide on a Peace Officer and Carjacking.
Through further investigation, Detectives learned the BMW was reported stolen out of Fresno and Hollins had been identified as the suspect.
