On 03-31-17 at 2255 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the Prince Food Mart in regard to someone cashing a fraudulent check. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the store clerk who believed the suspect was attempting to cash a fraudulent or stolen check.   

Deputies contacted a female who initially lied about her name and was later discovered to be a 24year-old female named Serena Ferrel out of Kern County. The check was inspected and found to belong to someone else.  After further investigation, Deputies discovered the check Ferrel tried to cash was stolen out of Delano.

Ferrel was taken into custody and booked on fresh charges of check fraud, identity theft, False identification to Peace Officers, and possession of stolen property.
