On 8-29-17 at approx. 1634 hours. a Tulare County Sheriff’s Office detective was parked on the side of the road at Plano and Morton, in Porterville.  The detective was in an unmarked Sheriff’s Office vehicle when a subject driving by threw a beer bottle which struck the Sheriff’s Office vehicle. 

The suspect vehicle quickly accelerated away.  The Sheriff’s Office vehicle activated emergency lighting equipment and a siren and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The suspect vehicle ran a stop sign and failed to yield for approximately one mile. 

The driver, Eli Resurrecion, was detained without further incident.  Resurrecion’s 3-year-old child was found to be in the vehicle as well. 

Damage to the Sheriff’s Office vehicle was estimated at approx. $200.  Resurrecion was booked into the Porterville substation for child endangerment, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and littering.
