CLEANING UP THE STREETS... LITERALLY!
Less than two weeks ago, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux attended a community meeting in Ivanhoe.
One of the top concerns people there had was littering and debris left in public areas, as well as a number of abandoned or inoperable cars left on roadways around the community.
Sheriff Boudreaux heard those concerns and took action- directing county personnel to start cleaning the area up.
As of today, here is what they’ve done:
- 13 vehicles have been TOWED-AWAY and many others were moved off the roadway by registered owners
- 8,060 POUNDS of debris have been removed from the roads, alleyways and lots, including 8 mattresses, 96 tires, 3 tv’s, a water heater, 2 sofas and 2 shopping carts
- A blocked alleyway between Ave 327 and Rosalind was also CLEARED OUT. It is now SAFE for emergency crews and residents to drive through!
Thank you Deputies at the Tulare County
Sheriff’s Office Visalia Sub-Station, Sheriff’s Office Litter and Tire Abatement Crews, the California Highway Patrol Visalia Division and everyone else who helped with this massive clean-up effort! You rock!
