On 10/04/16, Miguel Salazar, a known Northern Gang member, was arrested for Felon in possession of a firearm and possession of Methamphetamine by investigators of the Tulare Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team (T.A.G.N.E.T.).

Salazar was booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility on the listed charges where he subsequently posted bail and is pending court action on that case.

Investigators from T.A.G.N.E.T. were conducting a follow up investigation and received information from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms that there were other firearms registered at Salazar’s residence. T.A.G.N.E.T. Investigators served a search warrant at Salazar’s residence on the 13800 block of Idaho Avenue in Orosi and seized an AR-15 assault-type rifle loaded with a high capacity magazine.

Approximately 400 rounds of various calibers were located throughout the residence as well. The rifle and ammunition were not stored correctly thus creating a child endangerment issue for the children in the residence.

Salazar was arrested without incident on the listed charges Nov. 29, 2016 and booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
