On 5-19-15 at 2313 hours Deputies from Pixley Substation responded to a residence in the 190 block of E. Stanford Street in Pixley in regard to a dog getting shot.
Upon arrival Deputies contacted the Reporting Party who said she heard a single gunshot outside her house. When she looked out she realized someone had purposely shot her dog, which was inside an enclosed chain link fence. By the time family members exited the house they only recalled hearing what sounded like a diesel truck leaving the area. The Reporting Party had no idea why someone would shoot her dog. The area in front of the house, and adjacent roadways were checked for physical evidence, but nothing unusual was found. Neighbors in the area advised hearing a single gunshot, but didn’t see anything else.
The case remains under investigation, and community assistance in identifying the perpetrator(s) would be greatly appreciated.
