On 10-6-18 at 1617 hours Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of Avenue 224 and Road 44, Tulare, in regard to a deceased pony tied to a telephone pole.  Deputies responded to the scene and located the carcass.  Deputies believe the pony died somewhere else and was simply dumped at the location. 

The pony did not appear to have any visible trauma, but its actual cause of death remains unknown.  A Tulare County Animal Control Officer was dispatched to the scene and assisted with the investigation, as well.  Deputies processed the scene and then requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Property Crimes Unit.  Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
