On March 17, 2015 Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff Department’s STEP Team conducted a medical marijuana compliance check in the 14900 Block of Avenue 288 in Visalia. Detectives contacted Daniel Franco, 39 of Visalia who had set up a sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation within the residence. Pursuant to the investigation, Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property and located 115 marijuana plants of varying maturity which were being grown within multiple rooms of the residence. Franco could not provide a valid medical marijuana recommendation. Detectives also located a small amount of methamphetamine, scales and narcotics paraphernalia.
Had the marijuana been allowed to be harvested, it would have had a street value of over $115,00.00. Franco was taken into custody pursuant to the cultivation of marijuana for sale, and possession of methamphetamine.
