     Local law enforcement agencies joined forces on Thursday, October 19, 2017 to serve arrest warrants upon people for domestic violence offenses.  This was part of the 15th Annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail.  This effort happens annually during the month of October, which has been designated as the Domestic Violence Awareness month.
     At dawn, Deputies and Officers began knocking on doors throughout Tulare County to bring domestic violence offenders to justice.  More than 50 Deputies and Officers divided into four person teams and were sent out to attempt to serve more than 200 arrest warrants upon more than 190 suspects.  Some suspects had multiple arrest warrants, others had arrest warrants pending.  
     During today’s operation, a total of 165 arrest warrants were attempted, which brought 17 suspects into custody without incident.  Out of those 17 arrests there were 12 men and 5 women. Due to the nature of the arrests warrants, the names of those arrested will not be released. This is a multi-agency event and the remaining arrest warrants will be served by local law enforcement agencies as part of an ongoing effort to locate and arrest these offenders so justice can continue to prevail on behalf of our victims.  
     Eight local law enforcement agencies participated: Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Visalia Police Department, Porterville Police Department, Tulare Police Department, Exeter Police Department, Lindsay Police Department, Dinuba Police Department and Tulare County Probation.
