Drunk Mail Thief Arrested Near Allensworth, Are You One of His Victims?

On May 16, 2019, Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Pixley were called to the area of Hwy 43 and Palmer near Allensworth for a suspicious person. When they arrived, Deputies contacted the man and determined he was drunk. He was arrested for public intoxication. 

As Deputies continued their investigation, they found multiple pieces of mail in his possession that had addresses listed in the Allensworth area and names unrelated to the suspect. Deputies determined the suspect was from the Bakersfield area, but had recently moved to the Alpuagh area. Deputies went to the homes in Allensworth to try and find potential victims of mail theft. Unfortunately, due to the time of evening, no one was home. Deputies saw that the mail boxes at these houses were open, indicating a recent theft occurred.
