On 4-27-16 the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office County Apprehension Team Tracking Criminals in Hiding (CATTCH) developed information that a subject on the Sheriff’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, Raul Sierra Ramos, was currently in the above listed area. Ramos was wanted for a felony drug warrant and an arrest warrant for escape which occurred while serving his sentence with the Daily Reporting Center through the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
The information was provided to the Sheriff’s Office through a community member.
CATTCH requested the assistance of the Porterville Substation Deputies, Porterville Police Department and the Kings County Sheriff’s Office in the attempted apprehension of Ramos. At approximately 1 pm the agencies arrived at the location and knocked on the door several times. Ramos, inside the house, took an opportunity to flee on foot from the residence and led law enforcement on an approximate half-mile foot chase through fields and yards of other residences before he was finally captured.
Ramos faces additional charges for the foot chase along with the warrants and an immigration hold.
