On 11-07-2018, Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were called to Woodville Elementary School in the 16500 block of Road 168 in Woodville regarding threats made by an adult parent.
According to information from a witness, the parent had threatened to “shoot up the school.” Based on that information, Staff members immediately locked down the school. Subsequently, Detectives from the Sheriff’s Property Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
Detectives later discovered the threat had been made within the past month, but still believed it to be credible. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Casey Crisler, a 37-year-old resident of Woodville. He was contacted in Porterville after agreeing to meet with Detectives and arrested without incident.
The suspect was later booked into custody at the Porterville Sheriff’s Substation. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has a zero tolerance for any threats of violence against schools.
