On 01/14/16 at approximately 1650 hours Investigators from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Gang Violence Suppression Unit were conducting a gang suppression detail in the Cutler/ Orosi area. Investigators attempted a traffic stop on a white 4 door Honda for traffic violations at Second and Santa Fe in Cutler, the vehicle also matched the description of a vehicle wanted for investigation of shooting at an inhabited dwelling in which the investigators were following up on. The vehicle, which was occupied by four subjects, failed to stop for the investigators who had red emergency lights and sirens activated. The suspect vehicle went through several streets in Cutler to Ave 408 were it continued west bound reaching speeds of approx. 75 MPH. The vehicle turned north on Rd 112 and then west on Ave 412.  A weapon was thrown out of the vehicle by one of the occupants which were retrieved by assisting personnel. The driver of the Honda pulled to the side of the road on the area of Ave 412 and Rd 108. The right front and rear passengers fled on foot and the two other occupants were detained in the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.

A perimeter was set up around the orange grove by assisting personnel. Air support was requested and Sheriff-1 of the Sheriff’s Offices Aero Squadron responded and assisted with the search as well as a K9 unit from Dinuba PD. Within approx. 15 minutes of the search commencing Sheriff -1 advised the ground units that he had movement in the area and directed the search teams to an area under an orange tree where a suspect was taken into custody without incident. The search continued and along the perimeter the second suspect that fled was located by the K9 unit shortly after and that suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

The adult suspects were booked at the APTF and the juvenile suspects were booked at the JDF on the listed charges. The pursuit went approx. 2.5 miles and lasted 5 minutes
