On 2-7-2018, Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit assumed a Forgery investigation, which occurred at the Peoples Market located in Dinuba. 

It was learned that the suspect, Tomas Avilez,  27, entered the store and cashed two separate fictitious checks in a 2-day span, amounting to $3,152.  Detectives were able to locate the suspect and subsequently placed him into custody without incident. 

Avilez was transported and booked at the Pre-trial Facility for cashing the forged checks.
